The Salvation Army Castledowns Church

Castledowns Church has been at its current location since 1995.  But the history of the church goes back a long time before that.  Starting back around the turn of the 1900's as The Salvation Army #2 Corps (a corps is a Salvation Army term for a church), it then became the Alberta Avenue Corps located on Alberta Avenue (118th Ave) and then became known as the Edmonton Northside Corps.

In 1990 the congregation moved into a temporary location and merged with another congregation which was the Edmonton West Corps.  Together the new congregation worked to establish themselves in the Castledowns area which resulted in the building of the church we now reside in.

We have a rich and long heritage in Edmonton but we are not stuck in the past we are building upon it.  We are working to develop new and exciting ways to connect with our community and communicate the gospel message.
