1. Are you
aligned with any specific denomination?
Answer:
Yes. We are a church of The Salvation
Army. At Castledowns we do not have a brass band or many
uniforms, instead, we use a more contemporary style of
music and most of us dress casually. We value the solid
and well respected reputation of The Salvation Army. We
have found fulfilling ministry opportunities through our
church both here in our local community and also through
some of the other ministries of The Salvation Army in
the city. This is why we made Castledowns Church our
church home.

2. Is Castledowns Church a
family church?
Answer:
Yes. Families, whatever make up feel
right at home at Castledowns. As a single mom with a new
baby I wanted to find a church where I would be accepted
and welcomed. I found it at Castledowns Church. Now, my
son, my mom and I all attend here together. We are not
just members of a church, we are members of a family; a
loving and caring family. That is a great feeling, to
know that you have a family that will embrace you and
support you. We are more than a family church, we are a
church family.

3. Life is busy; does
Castledowns Church expect me to add more stuff to my
life?
Answer:
You are so right when you say life is
busy. My business keeps me very busy these days and I
don’t have the time or the energy to be involved in
everything at the church. I appreciate the fact that my
church recognizes this. It is important for those of us
that call this our church to maintain it and support it;
however my time is limited. Our pastors understand this
and don’t make any of us feel guilty if we don’t
participate in certain activities. They seem to
understand the demands of modern life and want the
church to be a place to find relief from the pressures
of life rather than add to the stress. People are more
important than programs at our church.

4. What happens at your Church
on Sundays? What type of service do you have?
Answer:
On Sundays, we come together at
10:30am and after a few minutes of announcements and
“meeting & greeting” each other, we turn our focus to
worship & praise to God. We sing songs of praise, we
read from God’s Word and we celebrate God’s abundant
blessing upon us in a tangible way through our
offerings. Our children have the opportunity to go to
their own lesson that has been prepared for them as we
dig deeper into the truths of God’s Word during the
sermon. Sunday worship & fellowship equips & rejuvenates
us for the coming week and helps us keep the pressures
and stress of the previous week in perspective.
